Hourglass Veil Mineral Primer | Review

On a daily basis the moisturizer or serum I used on my face acts as a fine primer for me, but when I am going out at night or to something special during the day I will use a primer. I used to apply a Maybelline or Benefit primer but I found they were both quite pore clogging, I wanted a more quality brand. I hadn't heard anything about this primer before and I have never even purchased an Hourglass product (even though I'd love one of those highlight pallets). The size I purchased is the 0.33oz, but it also comes in 1oz and 2oz, I included stock photos of them above. In the swatch photo you can see the product before it's applied and then underneath that rubbed into my skin which really show off its dewy & glowy effect.

"What it is - A mineral-based, water-resistant primer that neutralizes the skin, minimizes shine, and creates a smooth, uniform canvas for flawless makeup application.

What it does - This clean, satin-finish formula helps keep makeup looking fresh and prevents fading. Veil Mineral Primer also absorbs excess oils and minimizes the appearance of pores by evenly distributing light to help hide and soften the look of skin imperfections and fine lines."

What I enjoy most about this product is how easily is goes on the skin, and it's convenient packaging (I HATE squeeze tubes.. which is what the 2oz comes in). It definitely absorbs some excess oil on my skin, and leaves my skin feeling smooth, refreshed, and dewy. Ultimately though I find it does not benefit some areas on my skin that have larger pores, and that's mostly what I look to aid by using a primer. It does not really help to hide any imperfections but rather make a soft base for foundation to be applied. I find it keeps my foundation staying on a bit longer than no primer at all, but not by much. If you're not looking to help hide pores, and want a dewy natural feeling primer I would still recommend this product. Personally, I won't be repurchasing this product, it's not because I truly dislike it but because there are SO many more primers out there to try.

Let me know if you have any favourite primer recommendations for me to try next!
